Unexpected: Scientists Call Coconut Oil Pure Poison

It turns out that this product affects health even worse than lard.

Claims to the now seemingly former superfood appeared in Dr. Karin Michels, a professor at the Harvard School of Health and director of the Institute for Prevention and Tumor Epidemiology at the University of Freiburg. She made a presentation on "Coconut oil and other food errors."

In this speech, Dr. Michels states that coconut oil is "one of the worst foods you can eat." All because of the saturated fatty acids that are filled with coconut oil, it consists almost entirely of these acids.

Scientists have been talking about the destructive effect of the consumption of saturated fatty acids for the human body for years. In particular, these substances increase the risk of developing coronary heart disease and other cardiovascular diseases. That's because these acids increase the level of "bad" cholesterol in the blood.

“Eating coconut oil is much more dangerous than eating fat every day,” says Dr. Michels.

But, as in the case of bacon, experts do not recommend completely excluding oil from the diet. After all, an excessively low-fat diet increases the risk of early death by 25 percent. Therefore it is important to respect the measure in everything. And the measure is this: 20 grams of saturated fat per day for women and 30 grams for men.

“Any food can be poison, if you forget about moderation. It is important to remember that no product is inherently good or bad. It's all about quantity, ”the leading London nutritionist.
