Signs of Throat Cancer

Throat cancer is a concept that includes malignant tumors that have arisen on the mucous membranes of the larynx or pharynx. Due to the similarity of symptoms, the tumors of these organs were combined into one concept. It is also connected with one more thing - when a tumor starts in one of the organs, the second, as a rule, also affects it.

Signs of throat cancer

If throat cancer is diagnosed, the first signs should be long gone. What changes with the advent of this disease?

At the initial stage of throat cancer, the following changes are noticeable:

  • voice becomes different
  • hoarseness may occur until the voice disappears
  • pain in connection with swallowing
  • shortness of breath appears

Symptoms of throat cancer in the last stage suggest the following:

  • phlegm and hemoptysis
  • difficulty passing food through the esophagus
  • while treating sore throat does not subside
  • persistent or paroxysmal cough
  • ear pain
  • weight may be reduced
  • bad breath can appear
  • high probability of significant weight loss

The causes of this disease mass, however, smoking is considered the most important factor. The higher the smoker’s experience, the higher the risk of developing cancer of the larynx and other organs. There is also a risk of developing throat cancer in people who abuse alcohol. Note that these cancers often affect a man, since their profession more often than women is associated with harmful production.
