Personally, I do not throw away old batteries, I leave them in my garage. An old unnecessary thing can sometimes come in handy, can melt down on that. In extreme cases, you can pass for scrap

Having studied a lot of materials I found an article that you can hand over a battery for recycling and also get money for it. Recycling batteries seemed to me the best option.
