How to store tulip bulbs?
Tulips are beautiful and fragrant flowers, many grow them in their garden plots. Such plants are perennial, but it is very important to dig their bulbs before winter and store them so that they do not deteriorate during the frost.
How to store tulip bulbs: the rules
After you've dug up the tulip bulbs, you need to gently peel them off the ground with your hands. Then rinse them in a total container and treat with a 0.2% solution of basezol. After that, put them in one row to dry. It is better to do it in a room where the temperature does not rise above 25 degrees, and the air humidity is 80-100%. It is necessary to dry them for 1-2 weeks.
The next step is to prepare the bulbs for storage. To do this, remove from them crumbling scales, dried stems and separate daughter onions. After that, put them in a box, basket or other container. It is important that air circulates freely in it. Lay them out better in one layer. This will prevent them from rotting and will ensure unobstructed inspection of the bulbs during storage. Then you should leave the container with them in the room at a temperature of + 20 ° C. From time to time you will need to sort out the bulbs and put aside those on which there was a mold or signs of decay.
