How to call the keyboard?
The on-screen keyboard is, as the name implies, a keyboard that is displayed directly on the PC screen. You can type text on it with the mouse. This method, of course, is not very convenient, but it is indispensable when you have broken the main keyboard.
Let's see how to call the on-screen keyboard.
Call the on-screen keyboard
- Go to the "Start" menu, click on "All Programs."
- Find the section "Standard", then - "Special features" and click the item "On-Screen Keyboard". That's all!
The task, as you can see, is quite simple - everyone will cope with it, perhaps. However, in working with an on-screen keyboard, it is important not only to know how to call it, but also to be able to configure it. Let's deal with the basic settings.
Basic on-screen keyboard settings
To change the font, select the "Options" menu and click on the "Font" item. In the dialog box that appears, specify the desired font, features of the style and size. To save the settings, click "OK".
Change input mode
The on-screen keyboard has several input options, the most convenient of them are:
- on click - in this case, the letter is entered when pointing to the symbol and clicking on it;
- on hover - a character is entered automatically when you hover the cursor on it and hold it on it for a certain period of time. In this case, the user can specify the input delay himself by selecting in the "Parameters" section the item "Selection pointer delay" - "Minimum delay time"
To specify the input mode, use the Options menu, the Input Mode item.
The on-screen keyboard supports audio input confirmation, you can set this parameter in the Parameters section, the Audio Verification item.
Well, as you can see, setting up an on-screen keyboard is almost as easy as calling.
