Lard (or subcutaneous fat of pigs) is a favorite and long-familiar product, which is successfully used in the menu of many Slavic peoples. And some without a piece of bacon with onions and black bread do not imagine their diet. However, many people who are overweight and want to lose weight are suspicious of this product, as something potentially harmful to the body and incompatible with proper nutrition.
How many calories in fat and is it harmful?
- Of course, eating lard alone round the clock is harmful. But in small quantities it is simply indispensable for the body: it contains amino acids and selenium, helps clean the liver, improves immunity.
- Generally speaking, the calorie content of the product does not exceed the caloric content of vegetable oil and is approximately 770 kcal per hundred grams. This applies to ordinary salted lard, cooked in the traditional way. In fresh, unsalted - 700-750. In the lard - more than 800. In smoked meat, with a layer of meat, there are a few more calories: 900. About the same is in the favorite cracklings, but there are still harmful carcinogens present.
It should also be remembered that the rate of consumption of fat - no more than 30-50 grams per day.
